Gary A. Minton: Bio
Gary A. Minton was born on May 18, 1960, in Miami, Florida. His childhood home was in Hialeah, Florida, where he graduated from Hialeah High School in 1978. He resided in Hialeah until 1980, when he joined the United States Air Force. By 1996, Gary earned his Bachelor of Science degree, in Professional of Aeronautics, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Moody Air Force Base campus. Gary also became an adjunct professor for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Moody Air Force Base campus, as an Airframe and Powerplant class and certification instructor. In 2010, Gary earned his Master of Divinity degree, from Asbury Theological Seminary, Orlando Florida. During Gary’s time at Moody AFB, he attended two coveted classes: Steven Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, and Dr. Scott Stanley’s “Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program”, a marital-communications course. Gary not only went through the PREP course; he also taught it in many churches throughout Valdosta GA – including to the chaplains on Moody Air Force Base. After a great 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, Gary retired in the year 2000. He was immediately hired as a contractor with Raytheon Aerospace and L-3 Communications, as the manager for the T-6 Texan II fighter-aircraft training program, parts supply division, at Moody Air Force Base. Gary served as manager there until 2005. In 2004, Gary felt a calling to become a pastor, serving with the United Methodist Church for 15 years; having pastored 7 different churches during his time with them. Since 2020, Gary continues to serve as a non-denominational pastor; certified through the National Association of Christian Ministers. Gary is married to his awesome wife Patti – and they have 6 wonderful children together.
